Our Hungarian Kuvasz, Josie
Josie is a 2 yr old Hungarian Kuvasz. A very old breed of dog used to guard livestock, going back to biblical time. They are large dogs, she will get over 100 lbs. Extremely intelligent and loving. This is not a dog for someone who spoils and coddles their pets. If you do they will be running the house in no time!!!!!
Josie is very smart and at her young age, is already very attentive to the goings on around the farm. Training has been a challenge, to say the least, but she is becoming quite the farm dog. She is gentle, loving and sensitive. Those big brown eyes usually distract you from a proper punishment.
We will be breeding Josie in 2011. The reserve list is filling up for her first litter. Please take a drive and meet her. See he on the farm with the kids and the other animals. You will agree that she is the best combination of protector and family member there is.
We presently have Zeus her half brother. He is in the teenager stage and is quite the handful, he is the "big man on campus". Strutting his stuff and intimidating visitors. We got him as an 11 month old and he missed out on the socialization he needed. He is an excellent guard dog yet completely trustworthy with the family and people he knows.
